Rust Mud Dust

Make Plain

  • Release 2024
  • Genre Power-Folk

Only three words that want to explain the whole concept of the record.
Stories, reflections and poems born from dark and bright places we lived in the past seven years.
The sound is raw and rough and is rushing through blues and power-folk.
There are songs who want to express the concept of change and adaptation to places experienced in depth and other songs who keep the rock’n’roll alive, simple but authentic lyrics born on dusty and forgotten roads.
There is shadow, there is light; the focus is definitely on transformation and the journey from one place to another.
A deep reflection on brotherhood and the sharing of small gestures.
There is also a portrait song of the “Folk & Rollin’ Tour” we’ve played through Spain, Colombia and Mexico City.
We talk about people we met, we tell stories of these beautiful countries, with different cultures and different ways to deal with life.
“When we came back we immediately went through the pandemic period. These two different realities with contrasting emotions happened in no time.
“Shooting Guns” sounds rock’n’roll and full of energy, the same energy we kept from that incredible tour. We fed on these positive vibes to face the past couple of years”.
“From another world” is a poem of a little Afghan girl who talks about totalitarian regimes and femicide; we wanted to give a new life to her words and bring these poem into music.
The 13th and last track of the album is a little pearl written in our mother language.
The song is about the rapidity with which today interpersonal bonds are quickly born and fade away.
A lament and criticism of the epidemic of emotional shallowness and lack of basic values, such as sincerity, transparency and respect.
